Kancho Toru Tezuka

Dear Sjaak osu, i feel sorry that the message from me to you was late.

I am very thankful to Shihan Alain Breugelmans who took care of me and Michel during the event.

Also I wish to say thank you to Shihan Sjaak for making this event possible.

I have met very good karatekas and it made me feel proud of our group.

My overseas visit seems to be always an encounter with many families.

I always have the feeling that I visited a family that I haven’t seen for a long time.

The encounter is different, and a difference of culture has nothing to do with it.

My heart warms up there and I get out of words to say it.

It is for a visit to meet with each other happily that I pray.

What I found in this visit is to have realized significance of the existence of our group again.

It is to say that our group wants to exist.

There are many problems in society.

I think that the purpose of our group to come is to gather everyone and forget about past wounds

Kyokushin karate is the actual fighting.

The actual fighting leaves the damage to a body at time.

And it becomes a result to go away from karate.

I pray for you so that your body and your soul remain in good shape to face all the difficulties this present world is going trough.

Karate is the martial art that makes a person learn the way of life.

Let's make this group of ours a place for every one to learn karate in happiness.

It is splendid to contribute to the power that many good people gather.

At first please understand one's power having justly.

I am celebrating my 63rd birthday as I write this note to you.

I look forward to the day that I can meet everybody again.

I hope that the next time we could have more time to spend freely together all day long.

Words are not necessary in these precious moments so language barriers drop.

But I think that I should be able to share more time with you.

The time that people spend together can generate a better understanding of each other

and trust and respect are born from there.

I thank you for that I was able to meet everybody heartily, and I am pleased.

I pray for all of you to be happy, healthy and well.

Please do not forget me so that I do not forget

Shihan Sjaak van de Velde :

I hope that by organizing this event I have been able to contribute in some way to the cooperation between the different Dojo’s in the Netherlands and Europe. If we can continue to keep this spirit of cooperation and mutual respect in the future , then I am very confident that we can become a great Kyokushin family once again. Organizations are not the most important in this matter to my point of view. It's all about what you do and what you transmit to people. I always like to think "Let everybody do his thing”, don't impose your rules to others and give credit to all who deserve it". With this voluntarily cooperation without strings attached we can continue to cooperate and visit each others tournaments and events. Let us cherish this day and continue every year to contribute our part to it. I openly express my wish to be able to meet and great you all again on the next years 6th Open Kyokushin Reunion.

Considering the fact that there is an enormous potential in our little Holland of know how and superb teachers, then it is almost a sin that so many only keep teaching within the limits of their own school or federation. In Japan, the mother of our martial art, our country is very well considered. So now it is time to tear down these self constructed walls and open up for each other. Everyone of us has his own way of thinking but we have one important thing in commen, to transmit and pass on to the next generation the idea of Kyokushin. Sjaak, I want to thank you for being so persistent and to keep pushing us. I know you are very stubborn about these things but here I want to be you number one supporter. Sensei Michael thanks for your wonderfull kata demonstration.

I am not feeling very well but I wouldn't have missed this great event for all the money in the world. This is the best. Thanks for let me doing the warming up with the group, it feels great. I have been able to meet all my old buddy's again, we aet, drink and trained together. This was just wonderful. I have been looking for a long time to find such a group. I didn't know this was possible. From now on you guys won't be able to get rid of me because I am feeling very "at home" here. I am promising you: I will be back and this in better shape. Sjaak, thanks a lot for all.

Sensei Malik Dilnawaz

All the way from Norwegian Airport until I was in Numansdorp the main goal for me was to join a group that accepted me for what I stand for. OSU. The meaning of this simple but common used word made  a good mark in Numansdorp standing between respected Shihans and Sensei’s I felt my self in comfort rather than stress. Nothing fake at all, no one trying to be what they not are, no false respect , I was actually among normal human beings with good skills in the superior art of karate KYOKUSHINKAI.

The persons I met :

Shihan Sjaak surprised me with his personality, humble nice and a good teacher with some real powerful techniques. Thank you Shihan for inviting me to the group and accepting me as a member of the European group

Shihan Pedro Beltran, the magician within Kata, Taikyoko sono Ichi TOBI, wow now I got a new style to perform in Norway . That was fun, sitting with him at the table I got to know him a bit more like a person and found out that he was very humoristic person.

Shihan Michael Begin, The most colourful shihan ever. A big OSU to him, he had all the human qualities from entertaining to teaching.

Shihan Alain Breugelmans, A very understanding person, with the ability to adapt. He even arranged halal food for me and showed me that he understood and accepted the differences between humans.

Very good at teaching both katas and fightingstances. Shihan also arranged transportation to the airport. Thanks to the guys who drove us approx 70 km OSU

Shihan Marius Goedegebuur, A very humble and nice person, his show at the dinner did catch everyone’s eye (standing at his head) . He did a good job training us.

Kancho Toru Tezuka, Never ever seen a so high rank person being nice to anybody, this was the first time and I am still both in shock and more than happy to get known to Kancho. The way he accepted me and took me in the group!! I am overwhelmed by his personality. OSU

Michael van de Velde, He is too young I thought when I got there, but then I saw the effort laid in that Young boy by his teacher. The Kata’s were technically perfect as they could be or even more. He really surprised me, he has exellent skills. He had humor too, as it is a lack other places he could throw a smile and a laughter between the sessions.

Sensei Peter Smit, He was though, my thigs are really hurting, but it is more my fault than his training. He gave me some ideas about how to do a warm up and how to maintain the training spirit. OSU, I now he is a big fighter, and as Kyokushin Fighter, he showed the Kyokushin side, with respect and honor to his guests.

Sensei Can Sahinbas

The big powerful fighter marked himself, very good training. Thank you for arranging the Turkish food

Sensei Alain Fontaine

At the seminar I got to know a good fighter and a person with some of the same interests like me. I am known to be a person who takes contact and he was silent, so I did my job took contact and now we have become good friends. I think there would be some cross training to France and in Norway

Also a thank to Hank Bothoff who drove us (while eating candy) to Rotterdam and to Belgium.

The first day was a bit unexpected for me since I travelled from Norway and didn’t eat for about 9 hours before I got to Numansdorp .It resulted in some muscle pain that followed me through out both days so now after some treatment I am on my feet again, hope that every one had good experiences with the reunion. As I am elected as the new president of the Olympic Regional Karate Federation Norway, I will do my best to expand Kyokushin Tezuka Group from here on and shihan Sjaak has my full support.

Shihan Michel Bégin
To Shihan Sjaak and to all the members and friends of our group that attended the meeting in Belgium and the trainings in the Netherlands, I wish to say a warm thank you. To those who are not yet members of our group I say welcome, if your heart is as good as any of our members, please feel free to join our group and benefit from it’s strength and energy.
This reunion was a great event and it will surely bring more strength to the development of our family.
I have had the chance to meet very talented and determined karatekas and I am very proud of you all. I have seen the warmth and the kindness in all of you and it made me proud of our group even more.
Karate for me is not only about fights and technique but also a way of living and spirit. A karateka is someone who has a good hearth and has developed great skills and confidence in life. Someone for whom the respect of himself, is fellow karatekas and family is a priority.

The meetings and the trainings were very interesting in many ways. They brought us together and they allowed us to know each other even more. They allowed us to perform together, to foresee a goal and develop a vision of our future as a group and a family. They permitted to share and collaborate in all aspects of Kyokushin ways and it is for ever in our memories.
I have seen girls, boys, woman and men, students, senseis and shihans who were determined, strong and well trained with very good techniques and aptitudes, all giving their best and it made me realize how fantastic it was to be in your company.
I hope that this is only the beginning of a long list of events aiming towards our growth and that we will have the chance to meet again very soon somewhere else some other time , some day.

This reunion is a concrete demonstration of the possible cooperation, understanding and appreciation of people of all nations together in harmony and respect. No matter what origin, culture, religion, gender or colour we are all the same and it made me feel great and strong to believe and see that we can accomplish so many things together.

I say goodbye and see you soon to all of you, many thanks to Shihan Sjaak who has planned and organised this event and may god bless you all and your loved ones.

From the bottom of my heart receive my most distinguished salutations and a huge OSU to you.

Sensei Vincent Poncelet

OSU , I’m Vincent PONCELET and I have started kyokushinkaï on the 13/11/1985. In 1990 I was promoted to shodan. In this time I was in the World Oyama Karate Organization. I teach kyokushinkaï from 1998. I had a Dojo in Brussels. After this time I have to stopped karate because I had big problem with my back. Actually I live in Soignies, near Mons in Belgium.

The last month my childrens have to ask me to teach hem kyokushinkaï. I have accept. I have still problems with my back but with the right attitude all is possible. Then I have searched for information about kyokushinkaï on the internet. I have seen that kyokushinkaï has split in many group. I have search the best group for myself and I have choised the Tezuka group because I’m Ok with the principle of the reunification and the philosophy of the group (no difference). For me kyokushinkaï have a place in the heart and in the spirit, it’s a way of living and also to learn respect of himself and other.

That’s the principel witch I want to teach in my children and my future students. I think that the promotions of kyu’s and dan’s is not only the knowledge of kata, kihon and kumite. It’s an evolution of himself of the spirit, the philosophy and in the heart. I was very happy to have to participated in the Reunion of Shihan Sjaak van de Velde. I have seen msny people who are nice, humble and honourable like for example Kancho Tezuka. It’s an honour for me to have meet Kancho Tezuka. I think that he is very disponible and to keep one’s ears open to the members of IKO. I wish to say thank you to all the responsible of the group : shihan Sjaak, shihan Alain, Shihan Michel and all the others to have according her confiding for my incorporation in their group “obe big Kyokushin family”.

I would like make all possible to teach the philosophy and the ideas of our group. I wish to everybody a merry Christmas.

P.S. I’m very sorry for my English it is very very bad…..but I have tried

Shihan Henk Sweers
Osu !

Shihan Pedro Beltran
REUNION DE KYOKUSHIN EN HOLANDA, 11-12 / DICIEMBRE / 2004

Querido Shihan Sjaak, Osu!!

KYOKUSHIN REUNION IN HOLLAND, 11-12 / DECEMBER / 2004

Dear Shihan Sjaak, Osu!!

First of all, I want you to know that it was a big honour for me to attend the European Kyokushin Meeting you arranged.

I think this kind of activity could lead us to a new gathering of Kyokushin Karate in Europe, besides the group each of us belongs to. This would be the best for all of us Kyokushin lovers.

Being able to work together with instructors that have different visions is a great experience, because I think everybody has something to share and to learn, and we can learn something new everyday if we stay open-minded.

I think when somebody chooses to stay closed in his own world, he loses perspective of what happens around him, and he becomes poorer of spirit as time passes.

As I don’t want to forget the name of anyone present, I just want to thank everybody for these two wonderful days we shared. I really hope I can come if you invite me to the next meeting during 2005.

¡¡ Kancho, Shihan, Sensei, ni Domo Arigato Gosae Mashita !!

It was a reality momment of enrichment for me. I hope that I will be able to return the contents of it to my black pupils and my belts. I spoke to them about the very cordial reception of the people holandais. Thank you in Shihans which made a French effort for me.  hope to be able to return soon to Holland to divide Kyokushin. Many thanks to Kancho for his kindness with regard to all karateka and for his invaluable councils.
